Structural Cabling: 52 Drops of Cat6 in Concord, Ontario, Canada

Orion US completed an office buildout for a multinational company for their branch in Concord and Kitchener, Ontario, Canada. The project involved the installation of 52 cat6 cable drops in an office setting in Concord and 8 cat6 cable drops in the Kitchener warehouse. The two-man crew of highly specialized structural cabling technicians was deployed for 4 days to complete the work.

The details of the work are below:

1. Install 2 Drops for Wireless Access Points

2. Install 50 Drops for Data

3. Install client-provided network cabinet with fire-rated plyboard
4. Install 3 Meraki Switches and patch all the connections to the switch ports

5. Terminate, Test, and Certify all the drops

Network Cabinet Installation and Patch to the Meraki Switches

All 52 Cat6 cables were terminated in a patch panel in the network cabinet. 3 counts of 24 ports Cisco Meraki Switches were installed and all the connections were patched as per the instruction from the client.

Network Jack End in Office Area

The below image shows the termination of a few jacks out of 52 drops in the office and warehouse area on site. Each of these jacks was terminated and tested with a Fluke cable certifier. A pdf report was generated and submitted to the client along with a final installation of the report.
